Procedure for Replacing the Flipr Analyzer's Electronic Silo

This step-by-step guide will help you replace the central silo of your Flipr analyzer with ease. The entire process takes approximately 7 minutes.

Required Tools:

  • A Phillips screwdriver (PH2).
  • A cloth or paper towel.

Detailed Steps

1. Disassembling the Flipr Analyzer (approximately 3 minutes)

  1. Unscrewing the top cover:

    • Firmly hold the top part of the device.
    • Twist the slotted or solid cover counterclockwise to remove it.
  2. Accessing the internal screws:

    • Locate the two screws holding the upper shell and the central shell together. Unscrew them using the Phillips screwdriver (PH2).
    • Handle the screws carefully to avoid losing them.
  3. Separating the shells:

    • Place the device on a flat, stable surface.
    • Turn the analyzer upside down, holding it by the upper shell.
    • Gently pull the central shell upward to remove it.
    • Retrieve the central silo, which contains the device's electronics.

Note: Some models feature a black silicone safety seal. This seal will tear during the opening process, which is completely normal.

2. Replacing the Central Silo (approximately 1 minute)

  1. Take the new central silo.
  2. Insert it into the central shell, aligning the tab at the base of the silo with the designated rails.
  3. Ensure it slides into place without forcing it.

3. Reassembling the Flipr Analyzer (approximately 3 minutes)

  1. Positioning the probes:

    • Verify that the silo’s probes are aligned parallel to the screw holes and correctly oriented.
  2. Reassembly:

    • Replace the central shell over the new silo.
    • Tighten the two screws using the Phillips screwdriver.
    • Reattach the slotted or solid cover.
  3. Finalization:

    • Hold the device by the base of the central silo to keep the parts in place.
    • Tighten all components to ensure proper sealing.

Congratulations!

The electronic silo replacement is complete. Your Flipr analyzer is now ready to be placed back in the water and resume its functionality.
